Combining documents works best when you check page order and interactive features before creating the final PDF.
Prepare your source files
Give each source a descriptive name and open it once to check orientation and page count. Remove an accidental duplicate from the selection. Keep the original files until the recipient has accepted the combined result.
Choose the merge order
In Merge PDF, arrange files in the desired order before processing. Use Organize PDF if individual pages need a different sequence. Check the first and last page of every source after the merge; page labels printed in a document can differ from the physical PDF page index.
Watch forms and signatures
Browser merging preserves page appearance but may not preserve interactive form fields. Use the server option when you need the supported form-preserving workflow, and inspect fields with repeated names. Existing digital signatures may no longer validate after a merge.
Check the final document
Open the result in a separate viewer and confirm all pages are present, upright and readable. Consider adding page numbers only after the order is final. Share the smallest complete version that meets the recipient’s requirements.
